I couldn’t help myself. I like these two too much to hold photos from them for too long! So here are a few from the day until I post more and to make things even better there’s TWO weddings. My first Indian wedding and it was grand!

Sitting around in the lawn sipping beers with little puzzles under the cap I was approached about this growing problem, “Our mom literally has NO recent photos. Nothing since high school and every year we promise her we’ll get our photos taken and every year is another year without photos.”

So I agreed to help and we met up a few nights later at Queen E. park. I was shocked. Shocked. These two sisters would come over when we’d have parties and we would drag them, nearly kicking and screaming (okay squirming), to get them in the infamous photobooth! Thankfully, they put on brave faces and now their mother has photos, real photos!

On a hot, sunny, late July weekend Lino and Stephanie celebrated their wedding day at the UBC farm in Vancouver, BC. It was certainly an Italian affair and there was nothing more joyous than the singing of “It’s Amore” in unison over lasagna prepared by the Lazy Gourmet. It didn’t seem real and yet, there we were, witnessing something you see only in films!

A congratulations to Lino and Steph on their official title of Mr. and Mrs. I’ll be honest though, I’m quite literally finding a reason to post this adorable photo of Steph and her dog Jasper (I’m pretty sure it’s Jasper!) Photos are still yet to come but really isn’t this adorable?

Geoff and Melissa’s engagement!

I’ve been fortunate to have known Melissa since a mere month or so before my own wedding four years ago and when I heard her talk about Geoff I could hear it in her voice that this wasn’t just ’some guy.’ I wasn’t too surprised to find when we met that indeed he did seem to be her perfect match and sometimes you just know that this is the one! He romanced her with dates and many kindnesses and proposed less than a month ago. It was a joy to run around and play in the forest and on the beach where we found some lovely locations and they just seemed to take in every moment of it and of each other! Here’s to your future! I cannot wait to shoot your wedding! Cheers!

Getting Started

Recently I was fortunate enough to meet with the Pederson family to document the beginning of a new life within the family.

They were all sweet and joyous as I captured his coo’s and small movements. Aunt Maia also showed up part way through the shoot and helped to bring out lots of smiles and laughter for Steve and I as we carted gear through the house.

Thanks guys it was so great to be able to witness the beginning of a new and young family!

Rebekah and Melissa

October 10th in Fort Langley is the annual Cranberry Festival. Not only did we have a chance to enjoy the many booths on display in the lovely little town but we also were able to head to the site of the old Albion Ferry dock where we took most of our photos. Rebekah and Melissa used to be roommates at Trinity Western University years ago and have been friends ever since. Rebekah has been living in Seattle where she came from since finishing school and Melissa is living in Cloverdale. They decided to have one last weekend together before Rebekah packs up and moves to Hawaii! It was great to hang out with the girls and hopefully it will be a most memorable weekend!

Golden Maia!

Oh my goodness – this girl is beautiful, isn’t she?! I had the pleasure of photographing Maia in the rural parts of Fort Langley near the Fort Winery and Alder Acres as well as a few places around town. With the golden sun setting for the evening, we were definitely in for a treat. I could not have asked for a more wonderful shoot! Thankfully the locals seemed happy enough to lend them the use of their farms and driveways and we managed to stay out of trouble! Even when we came into town and took a few photos with others stopping to see what was going on she was such a sport! Hope you love them as much as I do!

Laura and Dave were a great couple to work with and they definitely wanted to take advantage of the beautiful backdrop the west coast has to offer. Can I say – What a stunning altar to be married upon! I’m wishing I had also caught the name of the florist as well because her work was stunning! She came in early to decorate the altar and each of the tables had these lovely hand tied beauties so guest could take home a bouquet of their own. Women seemed truly pleased by this thoughtful detail! The Pacific North West is the perfect place to find such a great location and the sound that the waves created crashing against the rocks was such a soothing sound which for many of us reminds us of one of the many reasons we settled in these parts of the world. Here’s a sneak peak!

Allison and Jeff

Friday September 18th Jeff and Allison were excited to celebrate not only 5 years together but also their wedding day! They were such a lively couple and there was no lack of affection here. They were overjoyed to be coming together with friends and family from far off. The couple met at Trinity College in Chicago several years ago and have been awaiting this day with such excitement! The weather ended up being perfect where rain was anticipated but we managed to be set for the day and everything went off without a hitch!
